No Bowlers Aloud

With the deal almost done to bring in 3 W&W Premier Div 1
players, controversial Hilly House A' team captain put a
block on new signings for 2007.
Julie has stated that
she was happy with her squad and the deal was cancelled along with the Ricoh inspired C' team (pictured below)
that he was to captain.
Young ‘Jammy’ Beddow
was devastated by the news but vowed to make every effort to get
into the C’ team as soon as possible.
“I’ve been watching him bowl,” said Richard, “he’ll make the C’
team soon enough.”

STEVO SACKED
Heads you play Tails you don't

A
controversial squad selection policy issued by elected captain,
Michael Stevens, was met with astonishment and confusion by the
Hilly House top dogs.
The system
aimed at giving all 19 squad members a fair chance of playing in
the 12-a-side team involved a winning player not being dropped
unless his averages were less than the square root of of his
last game on a particular green if it was raining and it was a
full moon the evening before last.

Lee Maslin
who sensationally resigned after last seasons failed promotion
challenge was quickly installed as Mick's replacement.

Ekker Or Dekker
? Hilly House
Senior Citizens team captain, Ray Sheldon has defended his
selection policy claiming it is the fairest of all the possible
systems. With the
lowest loser making way for a reserve each week, it has caused
some argument around the club as to whether the Hilly House are
a club that want to win things or just play social bowls. |

Possession is 9/10th's of the Law
Captain, Mick Stevens was reluctant to allow B' team captain
Paul Hickman to approach his team members despite having a
substantial squad. "They won't play for you" claimed Stevo.
Common sense prevailed and Martin & Jamie Beddow were dropped up
a division to join the high flying B' team. |
B is for Better
Hilly House continue to cause confusion in the Kingswinford
League as the B' Team top Division 2 whilst the A' Team sit
mid-tabled in Division 3.
"We entered the league later and therefore had to be called the
B' team," explained skipper, Paul Hickman. |
