NEW RULE FOR 2004

Due to the Hilly House “summer from hell”, all holidays for the 2004 season have been cancelled by order of the committee.
Luckily, thanks to the co-operation of Hilly House members, all but one game was played as scheduled and captains / vice-captains were given the headache of trying to fulfil fixtures.
The committee were willing to allow summer breaks for the next season but the total lack of postcards received has forced the unprecedented ruling, though Andy claims to have had one lost in the post and Paul Hickman forgot to put a stamp on his !!!!

Ricoh gets plastered

Following the injuries that have laid low both Mick Hickman and Norman Humpage, the Hilly House jinx struck again during the summer months.
Brian Williams was involved in a motor accident, which left him with broken ribs. Brian missed just one match with the injury as he bravely fought the pain to help out in times of need.
Just as it seemed that nothing else could go wrong, Richard Bullock joined the injury list, suffering a broken bowling hand. Ricoh refused to let the injury bother him and returned to the line up after missing just one league match.
Ricoh amazed his doctors when he requested that the plaster be cut away to allow better movement for bowling.

Better Than Their Dads ?

The introduction of a kids club has been a low key affair due to the lack of interest that was expected. Though the future of the club appears to be safe with Nat Wright, Jack Hickman and Daniel Brady have been seen practising on the green.

Bowls To Follow Cricket’s Lead

The resurrection in interest in cricket has lead to the bowling fraternity to follow some of the innovations that have increased popularity.

 The Twenty-20 Cup

Paul Taylor leads the way in the new competition, having won from 20-20 on 4 occasions already this season. Andy Hayes has won 4 from the amazing 7 20-20 games he’s played.
In total Hilly Houser’s have won 21-20 on 23 occasions while only losing 14 times, the most spectacular of which was Paul Hickman’s 20-21 defeat on the very last end of an all square match.
