Hilly House 174 The Stile 173

Hilly House held on to their early lead in the Bank's Cup final to run out winners by a solitary shot.

The game played on Churchfield Tavern's green in West Bromwich saw a thrilling game between the Hilly House and the Stile.

Victorious captain Martin Aston collected the trophy from Bank's area manager Jim Lorrimor, and praised the efforts of his team-mates including Graham Woodall's effortless (21-8) and Geoff Maslin's battling (21-19)

Roy Aston's unusual (9-21) reverse kept the fingernails short but the club held firm and sneaked to victory.
